What Video Formats are Supported?

With a HD-PRO account you can sell video in just about any common file format. We suggest you upload your file in one of the following:

  • Apple TV: H.264 encoded and between 1000 and 2500 KBPS
  • iPod Hi and Lo Res: H.264 encoded M4V or Mp4. High-Res is at 1500 KBPS and low-res is at 700 KBPS.
  • DivX: For converting directly from a Raw AVI, DivX offers a fantastic quality to size ratio.

How do I encode my video file?

The easiest way to get your video all packaged up and ready to be purchased is to encode it using Handbrake or a similar free program. Handbrake can also rip the video from a DVD. For trickier DVD ripping issues, we suggest #1 DVD Ripper (http://www.dvdtox.com/)
